Here's a telling image of how quickly we've adapted (read: been taken-over by) our parental duties. Brooke often feeds Sedona on the couch using the Boppy pillow (although our friends Skye and Kristin just bought us My Breast Friend so we'll be giving that a test drive later tonight). Brooke was on the phone talking to a friend, Sedona asleep in her bouncer. There was no breast feeding going on and none that was about to happen in the near future. Either way, she sits down, grabs the Boppy pillow and straps in. One week in and we've already got conditioned responses. We both had a good laugh.
*A quick side note: The Boppy Pillow? My Breast Friend? Are these product names ridiculous or what? Why not take them even further? Anatomically speaking it could be called "Mamory & Me." Or for parents who are always on the go - all aboard the "Luxury-Latch Express." For the Mom's who like to go clubin' why not bring along the "Boobin 'N Groovin." Inspired by the Blooming Onion at Outback Stakehouse it's the "Awesome Colostrum." For twins it could be "The Double-Trouble Nipple Bubble." For the folks who do their shopping on QVC it's the "Tit-tastic Milk-Master" Or for the Jews, how 'bout "The Mazel Nozzle?"
The names for these things defy reason. That said, the breast friend is the bee's knees for feeding, at least according to Spouse. See how you like it.
