After both Brooke and I put in our hours on the mountain this morning, we took Sedona for her first snow shoe hike. Right outside our front door and through our back yard lie mountains and wilderness. We spent about an hour hiking "deep in the shit" (a.k.a our neighbors back yards). Sedona was all smiles. And again, she was so comfortable and at peace in the cold winter air that she took another nap. Or maybe she was lulled into slumber due to hypothermia. Whateves.

Snowdona-Shoeing
After both Brooke and I put in our hours on the mountain this morning, we took Sedona for her first snow shoe hike. Right outside our front door and through our back yard lie mountains and wilderness. We spent about an hour hiking "deep in the shit" (a.k.a our neighbors back yards). Sedona was all smiles. Nordic Women

Brooke met up with two friends on Friday morning at Trapps Lodge for Sedona's first Cross Country Ski adventure. She bundled her up and strapped her into the Polk and towed her around the trails, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes (and even spotted a few Von Trapp family members wearing lederhosen and singing Sound of Music covers while twirling in the snow) . Sedona loved it! And she was so comfortable and relaxed that she even took a little winter nap. These girls get after it!

Did you remember the saw, Clark?
Last weekend we foreged out into the wilderness (aka: the local cut-your-own Christmas Tree farm) to seek out and cut down our Christmas tree. They had complimentary sleds for the little kids so Sedona got her first sleigh ride and loved it! This was Brooke's first time cutting down her own tree. Suprisingly, I have done this before. Not bad for a jewish kid.
Winter Walk
A few weeks back we woke up to 6" of freshies and took Sedona out for a winter walk in the snow. This time we pulled her boots on top of the white suit and let her jump around a bit. She loved it! Huge smiles and squeaks, rosy cheeks, and a bright red nose. She seems to get energized by being outside in the snow (unlike when she's outside in the sweltering heat during the summer and turns ornery and sweats like a small piglet).
Carbo-loading
Killington Thanksgiving
Sedona had a wonderful first Vermont Thanksgiving in Killington with the entire Davis family. All the quality time with her Aunts, Uncles, Mima, Grandad, Rowan, and Oscar seemed to give her a huge developmental boost. She was more interactive, engaged, and happy than we've ever seen her. Only extended time with her loving family could make her this happy. On the other hand, maybe she just felt so happy because she spent so much time on the orange shag carpet.
